Old Friends, New Enemies

(?)apparates in with such a force that a wave of energy ripples through the shades. A medium-sized man stands at the base of a tree his eyes glinting in the success of his entrance "So this is the Shades" the man speaks slowly with a smirk "And they say this place is the source of some evil. Hah." He walks among the dead examining them as he goes past "Ignorants, and fools. No hope among the dead. No hope for living either. For only once in a blue moon, do the powerful people appear. It is time to find them. For it is time for the final war to start. And I do not plan on being on the losing team" he pulls off his hood revealing a man in his early thirties, he had black medium length hair that spiked down over his blood-red eyes. His face was scarred with a slice across his left cheek. He turned around before speaking again "It is time to find allies"

Lady Mara A few meters west of where the black-haired man made his entrance, a large out of place granite boulder sat. It was about the size of a small Muggle Bug car and it also carried small flecks of an unrecognizable light blue in its make up on the east face of the stone. The side facing the newcomer. Unknowing to the unfortunate dead inhabitants of the Shades, the Mammoth rock was alive. It was one of the many disguises, no a better word yet, shells, of the Kitsune Mara. If anyone was to touch it, it felt like a stone. If anyone was to lift it, it weighed like a stone that size would. It was perfect in every way thinkable. The only visible flaw was a small, tiny fleck of gold on the North face near the top of the rock. If that was touched, the shell would dissipate, and the Fox would have to show itself. However, The Fox felt confident in herself. So she slept on in the comfort of solitude.

(?)Walks around letting go of what was about to come, and started observing his surroundings. Most of what he noticed didn't pique his interest. Mostly it was trees and tombstones scattered about here and there. The dead also wisped about to and fro, but there was one thing that raised his curiosity. A stone of remarkable features. Especially in a place as dull and gray as the shades. He walked up to it keeping an eye on it's more intriguing. He ran a finger over the stone, unknowingly touching the gold spot. He turned around his suspicions diminished. He then walked over to a tombstone curious as to how he'll find these powerful people, for certain, they exist, lest he wouldn't be here.

Lady Mara A ripple of power emits from the stone as the shell begins to wither and fade. As a stone cast in the still waters of a pond, the air ripples and distorts the image, before a flood of blue fire erupts from the top. Like a volcano spewing forth a pyroclastic blast that wrapped around the outer shell of the rock and tucked under its base. Lasting no more than a few seconds, it withers and where there once was Granite, now lay a small curled ball of white fluff, about the size of a large house cat.

(?)spins around his peripheral vision allowing him to see the sudden burst of light from what he at one point thought was a stone "Hah. I knew there was something off about that stone. But the question is... What are you? For you are not an ordinary animal. For no animal could have done that with so much power. Unless you were an Animangus, but I doubt that." He spoke as he walked up to the creature. he looked down at it as he sought to examine the creature, but he couldn't see much of anything to figure anything out "Even more curious. It seems that the only way I'll get answers is if you can actually speak. So... can you hear me?"

Lady Mara awakens from the deep slumber tainted with annoyance. What is the name of Inari.... the Kitsune curses at herself, before opening her golden eyes lazily, peeking over the top of her long tail that was wrapped around the small black dot of her nose. So...he did this. He broke my illusion and woke me. Mara lifts her head off of the cold, damp ground to glare venomously into the crimson eyes of the onyx-haired man before her. The displeasure plain to see as he speaks. Stifling a deep growl, she stands up on all four paws, the five other tails sliding out from under her body as the immortal spirit rises up. Barking once, her body becomes a mass of sapphire light as Mara places a mask on her face. The white fur melting away around her torso and legs, and shifting into a black Sakura laden Kimono, with a dark pink Obi Stash at the now human-sized waist. When the light finally dims enough to allow Mara's face to be seen, the snow-white fur on her head had to lengthen to reach the small of her Asian's form's back, and her eyes had retained their light amber hue. Altogether, shaping the Fox into a Japanese beauty around the age of 21. Glaring at the scarred man in annoyance, she speaks in her melodic accent. " If I can Speak? My Lord....do not insult me with such foolish questions." Moving her eyes from his own, she scans his body, noting the hidden power that lay inside. "You should know that ANYthing that can Shift as I have done can talk."

(?)raises his brow as the animal, which turned out to be a fox shifted before his eyes, and spoke. He found that he gazed on a little too curiously on the whole ordeal. He raises his hands in a silent retreat "Perhaps. I've been asleep for..." He hesitated for a few mere seconds before changing his words "Let's just say... I've been away for quite a while. I've been gone so long, I've no idea what the year is. So no I had no clue about any shapeshifters, other than Animangi and Werewolves." He pulled the hood over his face, not willing to reveal anything about him, that might reveal his past "Might I ask what type of specimen you are?" He asked thinking her response wasn't going to be good, but he was willing to brave the conversation as long as it drifted away from him

Lady Mara watches him cover his battle-scarred face with interest. This...dare I call him a man? Is either vain, hiding from someone, or running from his misdeeds. Mara blinks her eyes, clearing the thoughts from her mind for the moment. The male had spoken of the Werewolves and Animangi....so he must have been in this Realm at some point in his past. The Fox inside her wanted her to dig deeper, to satisfy its thirst of curiosity. But, Mara knew that pushing him for information would never work. A warm smile snakes its way upon her lips as an old saying comes floating out of her own past. You can catch more flies with honey, than vinegar. Keeping true to her mindset, the vixen moves over at his side. Taking one of her long, red nails and running it down his arm as she answers him with a sly grin. "I am Mara....a spirit to my people....some call me a messenger of Inrai... and then again...." The nail reaches the index fingertip of the man. "I'm also known as a demon of sorts...but, my Lord I ask you... in your own mind... what is it that YOU wish to call me? "

(?)nods every now and then at the story, feeling that a few parts were left out, but, he didn't mind as he was leaving out details as well. He then took her hand and removed it from himself "If there is one thing I do not like to be is touched." He then thought a moment before speaking again "I will call you by the name you've told me. And since you've shared your name with me, It's only polite that I share mine as well. But seeing as I'd rather not reveal my name at this point, you can call me Manthorinad. I guess you can say the name is a puzzle. I only give my true name to those who can solve the puzzle in my secondary name." He glanced at Mara and spoke "Now that the pleasantries are over, you haven't told me everything. After all, can you imagine my surprise after hundreds of years of... some time asleep, the first thing I see, Is a shapeshifter, beyond anything I've ever encountered before"
